How it works
Two separate permissions must both be true before anything is sent: Nerds enables the service for your business, and an authorized person at your business approves the exact post inside your own dashboard.
- Charlie’s Nerds onboards your business. We register your business, turn on the platforms you’re approved for, and set up the secure server-to-server connection with your website. New businesses start inactive until Nerds activates them.
- You connect accounts from your dashboard. Choose “Connect” in your dashboard. You’ll pass through Nerd Post to the platform’s official login (the consent screen shows Nerd Post as the app), choose what to allow, and come straight back to your dashboard. You see exactly which permissions were granted or declined.
- A draft appears in your dashboard. Your team, or an automated tool, prepares a post. Proposing a post never publishes it.
- Your dashboard shows exactly what will be sent. The platform-specific text, the media, the destination account and the options, taken from Nerd Post’s record of that exact version.
- An authorized person approves in your dashboard. Your website confirms who they are and that they’re allowed to approve, then sends Nerd Post a digitally signed approval tied to that exact version, account and action. If anything changes afterwards, the approval is cancelled and the new version needs approval.
- Nerd Post delivers and reports back. Nerd Post checks the signature, your business’s status, the connection and the permitted capabilities, delivers the post once, and returns the result to your dashboard: published with a link, delivered to TikTok drafts, failed, or outcome unknown if the platform didn’t confirm.
What Nerd Post relies on
Nerd Post trusts your enrolled website backend to sign in your own people and enforce your approval roles. A digital signature proves the approval came from your website and wasn’t altered; it does not by itself prove that a person clicked. Nerd Post independently checks everything it can: the exact version, expiry, one-time use, your business’s status, the connection and the platform capability.
Working with your existing dashboard
Your website keeps its own login, design and workflow. It talks to Nerd Post only from its server, using separate credentials: one that can propose drafts and read status, and a separate signing key used only for human approvals. Platform tokens never leave Nerd Post and are never sent to your website or any automation tool.
Your accounts stay yours
You can disconnect any account at any time from your dashboard. Disconnecting immediately stops future sends and deletes the stored platform access tokens; Nerd Post also asks the platform to revoke access where the platform supports it. You can also remove access in the platform’s own settings.
TikTok drafts vs. direct posts
TikTok “draft” delivery places a video in your TikTok inbox for you to finish in the TikTok app. It is never reported as published. Direct posting to TikTok has additional platform requirements and is not available in this pilot.
